Members of CPRE (Campaign to Protect Rural England) Torbay have asked that we make contact to inform you of a Planning Application which has been submitted to Torbay Council. The land runs from Galmpton Village along the Brixham Road which overlooks the Dart Riverine towards Dittisham and Stoke Gabriel.
If you are reading this from the other side of the River Dart or South Hams area we have very strong reasons to believe the development will impact both sides of the River Dart and AONB. The site was strongly rejected by both areas (Galmpton and Dittisham) when it was proposed previously. It was dismissed by the Secretary of State in 1997 for reasons which are just as relevant today.

Outline application for residential led development of up to 400 dwellings (C3) together with the means of vehicular and pedestrian/cycle access together with the principle of a public house (A3/A4 use), primary school with nursery (D1), internal access roads and the provision of public open space (formal and informal) and strategic mitigation. The proposal includes amendments to Brixham Road, Long Road junction and Windy Corner junction. Details of access to be determined with all other matters reserved.
This application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement and the proposed development does not accord with the provisions of the development plan (Torbay Local Plan 2012-2030) in force in the area in which the land to which the application relates is situated.
